Otherwise known as ‘Joan Crawford x my Grandma Blues'
You may call her whatever you choose!
You know when your jowls slacken a little and maybe you don’t think you look as ‘good’ as you once did but you feel a deep well of dignity and "Don’t f&$k with me" pride that comes from loving yourself come what may?!
After painting this lady, I remembered that one of the most treasured and long admired objects of my childhood was my Grandmas’ pale blue glass flower bowl with a figure in the centre. It was always exciting when we could pick hibiscus flowers from the side of Grandmas’ house and put them in the allotted holes, it made the blue figure so happy.
We all called that flower bowl The Blue Lady (yes we are quite a literal family when it comes to naming things!!) so I love that the name has stuck for this series.
