Collection: Italy Collection

This collection began with sketchbooks from journeys around my beloved Italy.

All the originals were captured on location, in the moment, often accompanied by words. These sketches carry the feeling of place and time.

I used these drawings to re-trace my steps and revisit these feelings and places, to create larger works, redefined 10 or more years after the original sketch.

To me this is the great power of travel and wonder. When we are so present and alive in the moment that it can sustain us and bring us joy many years later.
